HMS Glorious

HMS Glorious played a large part in the Malta story. She was responsible for leaving 8 Sea Gladiators at Kalafrana, Malta before war was declared by the Italians. Four of these were later used as the first & only air fighter defense on the Island - 'Faith, Hope & Charity'. The fourth aircraft was used as spares.
After leaving Malta she took part in the evacuation from Norway & was sunk in mysterious circumstances. In fact the incident has a 100 year blanket of secrecy. No ship has ever been called Glorious to this day.
