National War Museum
Entrance to War Museum. This is easily
found. From the bus terminus go through the main gate into Valletta & walk
straight down through the centre of the city as far as you can go.
Turn left when you reach St.Elmo's Fort & you will see it on the right just
before you reach the coast wall.
Heritage Malta informed me (June 2009)
that the museum has recently been refurbished. Opening times & admission
costs are presented in the box below &
are taken from the Heritage
Malta website.
Monday to Sunday: 9.00-17.00 Last admission: 16.30 Closed: Good Friday, 24, 25 & 31 December, 1 January Tickets - Adults (18 - 59 years): €6.00 Special Exhibitions: there may be a separate charge for temporary or special exhibitions. |
Absolutely a must see Museum if you are on Malta for
a visit. Packed with loads of exhibits & many maritime items such as ships
bells etc. You cannot help but be moved by being so close to these items.
Faith is resident here. Many photos, badges of ships etc including the original
letter of the King conferring the George Cross to the Island.. I cannot recommend
it enough.
I put below a few photos of exhibits but the real experience of the place
can only be gained by a walk around it.
