Due to a large amount of inputs I have split this section into various areas. Some images will left click to show a full screen image but some images are supplied over the Internet & are not clear enough to show at this magnitude.
I would appreciate any photo's in connection with Malta to put onto the site, please contact me.

A good site in searching RAF personnel is http://www.worldwar2exraf.co.uk/index.html You will have to work at it but it's a good starting point.

Paul Gill sent me the 2 photos to the left with this message....

My father Reg Gill served in the RAMC as a radiographer on Malta with the 45th General Hospital from July 1941 to March 1944.
He had access to some film. I include 2 photos. One of the sergeant's mess and one of their barman. Mr Micallef was a former KOMR sergeant and very much liked by Reg.

Unbelievably he cooked a meal for 5, a dish of curried vulture at a time of desperate food shortage! The bird broke its wing in the slip stream of a spitfire and fell into the sea from which it was immediately recovered.

Reg believes he would have passed this info onto his children and would be thrilled if someone could confirm this if only for the sake of the doubters at home!

Selected to play football for the Army v Malta Football Association XI.
Kick-off at 3.15pm at the Empire Stadium. A report on the match, in the
'Times of Malta' of Monday Jan 22, 1940: Army v MFA XI Xmas Tourney matches,
played on 21 Jan 1940. The report suggests that the Army team was lucky not
to have suffered a greater defeat than it did!

The photo was taken at Larkhill, Wiltshire, soon after his return from
Malta.
