14th March 1942 | Attacked & sank Italian submarine Ammiraglio Milo near Cape Stilo. P34 surfaced to pick up survivors but were machine gunned from shore & dived. |
24th April | Whilst in deep water off Valletta at the ferry terminus a bomb fell close by. At 20.30 hrs when it was getting dark they tried to surface but had difficulties. They became fouled in an anti torpedo net & were stuck under a 4½" steel wire hawser. Sam MacGregor went to the site & sawed through the wire with a hacksaw until the boat broke free. |
